From the recording THERE IS A RAINBOW

THERE IS A RAINBOW.  This is a song of hope that no matter how stormy our lives may become, God is always there for us, always  watching over us, always loving and forgiving us.  The text is based on Genesis 9: 12-17, where God makes a covenant with Noah after the Great Flood;  and in Luke 9: 25, where Jesus reminds us that our soul is worth more than all the material goods in the world.

Lyrics

REFRAIN:
Somewhere in the storms of life, there is a rainbow,
Watching over us wherever we may go.
Like a bridge over the Flood for us to follow,
When we believe and pray like there is no tomorrow.
VERSE 1:
Why go on looking for the end of the rainbow,
And wanting more gold than we can hold;
When the fortunes of life are not found in the glitter and glow?
Why own the whole wide world, if we lose our only soul?
VERSE 2:
Who can say why all the dark clouds are here to stay,
But there will be a rainbow someday:
To remind all the lost that the light of the Lord is the way,
Shining on hearts of stone, where only love stands alone.
VERSE 3:
Now let us gather our prayers together,
And send them with love over the rainbow:
To bring heaven as close as the heart is to our only soul,
So all the storms we face will never slow the loving flow.
