WELCOME TO MY BLOG

MY_BLOG_250x187.jpgMy mission here is to help spread the Gospel by providing you with the Scripture source and the best background information available for my new Christian Songs and Hymns.  In addition, I have also suggested the music that would be suitable to use during the Liturgical Year, such as for Advent, Lent, Holy Week, and Easter.  Just click on READ MORE to view the full page(s).  Your comments, of course, are always welcome on My Blog.

THE BLOGGER

I have been asked to write some thing about myself.  I am Vietnamese by birth, but I have made America my home for many years. I had a meaningful and rewarding career in Social Work/ Counseling, but left that field a few years ago to devote time to Compose Christian Songs. I write the music as part of a team with my husband Cecil Ouellette, who writes the lyrics for our songs and manages our website. To date, we have written 60 songs and professionally produced 5 CDs , which have recently been replaced by Music Videos on this website. These Scripture Based Songs were written as result of our deep Faith in a Loving, Providential God.  We believe we are all created for Eternal Happiness. Our earthly lives and all related happenings of joy or sorrow are but opportunities for us to  better this present world for future generations, while preparing for the ultimate Reunion with our Maker, Redeemer and Sanctifier. In the spirit of gratitude for all the gifts we have been given, my husband and I are happy to share all our songs, sheet music and CDs for free downloads and listening.

My Blogs below are reflections and highlights of individual songs . I also recommend songs which are appropriate for Church Services during the Liturgical Seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.

I welcome all suggestions and comments. May we find meaning and inspiration for our lives through our Faith, Hope and Love. May this website be a small part of  spreading the message of Hope and Salvation.

SONGS FOR HOLY WEEK AND EASTER

SONGS FOR HOLY WEEK AND EASTER

shutterstock_49111414_500x232.jpg

We are fast approaching Holy Week! I want to concentrate on the six Songs that are appropriate for that week. The first one is: THE HOUR HAS COME, which reminds us of the Palm Sunday, when the Lord Jesus entered Jerusalem amidst the joyful Shouts of Hosanna. The second song is:  LORD OF THE LAST SUPPER, which recounts the event during which Jesus ate the Passover Meal with his disciples and Instituted the Eucharist, i.e offering his Flesh and Blood to be our Food and Drink. To accompany this Act of Ultimate Giving, he also washed the feet of his disciples to show that Love and Service go hand in hand.  He did so because:  "He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end," John13:1b.  What faithfulness!  What compassion!  He wants us to follow his example and wants us to "do it in memory" of him.  Both of these songs are from the HE IS RISEN SONG ALBUM

SONGS FOR THE SEASON OF LENT

The Themes foshutterstock_2666441_500x375_250x188.jpgr Lent emphasize our need to return to God, to take up our daily cross, and to renew our appreciation for the Supreme Love of Jesus.  He took on our humanity, lived and preached the Good News, and gave up his life to redeem us.  He invites us to life everlasting by Following in His Footsteps with Love and Service to The Poor and The Oppressed.  1.  SONGS OF ENDLESS LOVE SONG ALBUM: Endless Love;  Out of the Darkness; and Who Do You Say That I Am?  2.  PRAY FOR DELIVERANCE SONG ALBUM:  My Sins Surround Me;  Whiter Than Snow;  and We Shall Always Overcome.  3.  I CALL TO YOU SONG ALBUM:  I Call To You;  Lead Us Home;  and Rising To The Call.  4.  HE IS RISEN SONG ALBUM: Surrender your Soul, Your Heart;  Last Words Of The Lord;  First Born;  Lord Of The Last Supper;  Lord, Remember Me; and Two Thousand Years Of The Cross.  5.  GOD IS WITH YOU SONG ALBUM: The Greatest Truth Ever Told;  Stand with The Poor;  and Love The Lord My Soul.

BAPTISM OF THE LORD

The Roman Catholic Rite commemorates the Baptism of the Lord, as the beginning of his Public Life, when the celebration of Christmas comes to a close.  Scripture Reading tells us of the Father's Voice being heard, proclaiming Jesus as his "beloved Son," while the Holy Spirit - in the form of a dove - descended upon Jesus, as he was being baptized by John the Baptist.

Jesus came to tell us the "Good NEWS" of the Kingdom of God. This kingdom's requirement of its membership is what Christ came to preach and give his life to prove - to love God and to serve others out of love for him.  Through the Water of Baptism, those of us who are baptized also become God the Father's beloved sons and daughters with the Holy Spirit descending upon us.  The Water of Rebirth and its accompanying graces enable us to "spread the GOOD NEWS," as Jesus did during his Life on Earth.

Jesus did not promise us an easy life.  He does, however, tell us that we will win the final victory, when he comes for us at the end of our lives - if we live with Faith in God, Hope in his promise of being with us always, and if we Love Him and others for his sake.

shutterstock_6709591_306x500_150x245.jpg  I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and New Year and is now beginning the "routines" of the year.  For those of us who follow a  Christian "Worship Calendar", the next commemoration will be the Baptism of Jesus, it is considered the official beginning of his Public Ministry.  Inspired by the Scripture Readings relating to this commemoration, we wrote the song " WE SHALL ALWAYS OVERCOME" for the CD "PRAY FOR DELIVERANCE."

Jesus was baptized in the Jordan by John the Baptist, He received the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove.  As Christians, we receive this same Holy Spirit at our Baptism and are sent forth to preach the Good News.  We are given and commissioned to "overcome" the world of darkness, war, miseries, abject poverty etc.. through FAITH, HOPE and LOVE.

SONGS FOR CHRISTMAS

The main themes of Christmas are LIGHT and LOVE (which showed through Poverty and Simplicity) : For Ever A Great Light ; Out of the Darkness ; All The Way To Glory ; Endless Love (From the CD "Songs Of Endless Love')  Two Thousand Years Of The Cross; First Born ( From the CD  "He Is Risen".)  Lord Of The Light  (From the CD  "I Call To You".)  Rising To A New Dawn (From the CD "Pray For Deliverance".) Rise On Wings Of The Dawn (From the CD "God Is With You".)

The brief reflection that I have written for each of these songs can be found under the blog of the CD referenced here.

May the Light of the God Made Man be our Guide throughout our lives as we journey heavenward.  May the Love that prompted the "WORD" to MAKE FLESH make its imprint on our hearts and our souls, so that we LOVE GOD by LOVING OTHERS.  Let this LOVE PERMEATE our being, GUIDE our actions and BE with us as long as we live...ONLY LOVE REMAINS and CARRIES us into eternity on its wings.

 A Grace-filled Christmas to ALL!

SONGS FOR ADVENT

This Sunday we will start the Liturgical Season of Advent.  As people of faith, we set aside some time each year to reflect, to refocus our life, to be aware of the place of God, of Jesus in our lives. Scripture Readings during the next few weeks call us to return to God who loves us into being, and to renew our trust and faith in Him.  It is also a time of hope, re-commitment, and peace.  As always, our relationship with God is strengthened and shown by our relationship with others.
